Kanyaadaan is the story of Nath Deolalikar, a Gandhian socialist M.L.A.... of his belief in socialistic philosophy and democratic idealism... of his daughter’s firm belief in her father’s philosophy... of her increasing disillusionment with his ideals and the crisis that faces the family as a result. It is a drama of the internal turmoil arising out of ethically accepted ideals faced with stark reality.
