The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is organising 'Leela': A South Asian Women's Theatre Festival in New Delhi, which will be followed by a Mini Festival in Mumbai, Kolkata and Chandigarh.

This is a unique concept as it is focuses exclusively on women's issues and will bring together Theatre Groups from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The Festival will combine foreign theatre groups with local talent which will encourage and strengthen the Theatre Movement across the sub-continent. The festival coincides with the celebrations of 100th Anniversary of International Women's Day

In Mumbai the Minister festival will showcase Theatre Groups from Srilanka, Maldives, Afghanistan and two groups from Mumbai.

The shows will be FREE to the public on collection of admission passes from 8th
