While myriad acting and theatre workshops are mushrooming all over Mumbai this holiday season, here's something different. Awishkar's half-day workshop, conducted by renowned artist, Sudhir Patwardhan seeks to discover a new dimension in theatre. "We want to find out a fusion between theatre and paintings, like we have with dance and music," explains Arun Kakade, the veteran Awishkar in-charge.
Noted theatre personalities, Sushama Deshpande and Shanta Gokhale will also participate in the workshop and pen the script of a new play combining Patwardhan's paintings in it. "It is an evolving format," says Arun Kakade. "All theatre enthusiasts - amateur as well as experimental and professional can make the most of this opportunity," he beckons.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, May 12 2012, from 4.00 pm onwards at the Awishkar Sanskrutik Kendra at the New Mahim Municipal school, Mahim West, Mumbai.
The workshop is free for all. Those interested can enroll themselves at the venue or by calling 9869250654 or 9820045867.
