Comedy today is not just serious business but a demand for entertainment that is increasingly met by live acts. The comedy festival at the NCPA explores various ways of spreading cheer. Started in 2012, Cheer! is a three-day celebration of comedy, wit and laughter. This year, Cheer! features three new comic plays and a workshop series on working with humour on three evenings of non-stop hilarity.
Several talented writers, directors, actors and comedians are working in Mumbai and have created a space for the enjoyment of humour in all its forms. The Cheer! Festival brings together a selection of the best.
