Conceptualized by Mishti Verma, ZUBAAN touches upon the delicate topic of gender sensitization through the medium of theatre. Being performed as a part of 'YINDIA' the gender sensitization forum that aims to bring about awareness on the topic in an innovative manner, ZUBAAN will feature a series of monologues from veteran actors including Tom Alter and Divya Unni.
ZUBAAN showcases a series of monologues depicting issues such as fair skin, self-identity, think manager, think man, sexual harassment among others. Based on research interviews and true life experiences of top women achievers across India, ZUBAAN aims to voice the unheard voices of women who have beaten the stereotypes.
One very special piece is a tribute to the National award-winning Preeti Monga, India's first visually impaired Aerobics instructor in the country.
This show will be performed as a part of the forum on gender sensitization- YINDIA.
YINDIA is an initiative by Inner Katha Foundation, founded by Mishti Verma with the aim to challenge social biases and gender stereotypes.
The programme will start with a speech from keynote speaker, Urvashi Saxena who is the Chief Income Tax commissioner in Mumbai. This will be followed by a talk on stress management and work life balance by a leading psychologist. ZUBAAN will then be staged and Preeti Monga will share her inspiring story. The forum will end with a talk session by Tom Alter on gender sensitization.
