Tata Literature Live!, the Mumbai International Litfest celebrates its 5th year. Along with all the regular accompaniments of a Litfest like book launches, workshops, straight talks and panel discussions, Tata Literature Live! is unique because of its strong performance section. For the first time, while also playing at it's regular home the NCPA, the festival is also being held at Prithvi theatre.

Plays this year come from North America and from Canada. There are two solo performances- THE TRICKY PART and ALL THE RAGE, both written and performed by Martin Moran. ICELAND from Canada is written by Nicolas Billon and has been directed by Ravi Jain. Apart from these international performances, regional Indian folk performances feature storytelling forms such as the Pandvaani.

Other performances include The Chamber Singers from Pune, led by Veronica Krishnayya and accompanied by Paul Stewart on piano.Their programme- Serenade for Shakespeare celebrates Shakespeare and the influence he has had on various composers through the years. British director Tim Supple will talk about his experience staging Shakespeare and will also conduct a workshop on how to 'play' Shakespeare.

Another highlight of the festival is a musical programme called Ghazalaw- a collaboration between Welsh and Indian musicians.

Tata Literature Live! sessions and performances are free, thanks to the support of the sponsors. Tata Steel and Landmark are co-sponsoring the event this year and LIC has come on board as associate sponsor. The performances have also been made possible thanks to Standard Chartered, JSW, PwC, British Council, Canada Consulate, and many other partners.
