Awishkar, founded in 1971, is regarded as a theatre institution of Marathi theatre in Mumbai. Over four decades, it continues to encourage and support experimentation. Its recent production AAYDAAN, based on Urmila Pawar's autobiography and directed by Sushama Deshpande, was among the 10 finalists for the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META) . This play along with the Late Satyadev Dubey's INSHAALLAH and MH 02 DL 5262, based on a story by Milind Bokil and directed by Vishwas Sohini, will be staged at Prithvi theatre.
