What is the relationship between visual arts and ideas? How does art help a curious person, fascinated with the world, explore ideas and discover new paths? Do everyday realities impact the expression of ideas? Why does an artist choose this medium over that for expression?

Junoon's 'Mumbai Local' invites Reena Kallat - acclaimed contemporary painter and visual artist.

According to Reena, "the studio is a laboratory where one is constantly experimenting, not only with new ideas but processes."

In this Mumbai Local session, Reena will take the audience through an especially personal journey, and open up sides of the arts that are usually not visible - a typical day at the studio, how a physical space defines an idea, how an idea evolves over time and through multiple arts expressions. She will let you know how she defines her art while her art defines her.

Write to mumbailocal@junoontheatre.org to pre-register for the programme.

'Mumbai Local' by Junoon is a regular, monthly programming of unique engagements with the Arts and the Sciences.
