Playwright Ashok Patole of AAYEE RETIRE HOTHEY fame is no more...

Ashok Patole, a celebrated playwright in professional Marathi Theatre passed away on 8th May 2015. Based on the play AAYEE RETIRE HOTHEY, BR Chopra called him to write dialogues for the feature-film 'Baghban' that featured Amitabh Bachhan.

The play became so famous that it was translated and adapted in various languages such as Gujarati and Tamil. The Gujarati version with Padma Irani (known popularly as Padma Rani) permanently secured fame for the actress.

Ashok Patole's body was not cremated as he donated his body to KEM hospital students. He is survived by his wife, son & daughter.
