The Park's New Festival by The Park Hotels and Prakriti Foundation...A festival of Contemporary Performance Arts...A one of its kind of events in India across six cities...

The Park's New Festival invites you to witness a celebration of fusion dance, an imaginative musical journey, a theatrical comedy and more at its 9th edition.

Curated by Prakriti Foundation, this contemporary festival brings together a melting pot of talent.

The festival's highlights are:
  • Akram Khan and Israel Galván bringing together Kathak and Flamenco have created TOROBAKA
  • ENFLIGHTENMENT - a devised piece of physical comedy by Rupesh Tillu
  • A musical journey by Aditya Prakash's troupe 'The Colliding Worlds Project'
  • Book launch 'Until the Lions' by Karthika Naïr
The festival kick starts from Chennai on September 20th and will travel across six cities including Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai before it concludes in New Delhi on October 14th.
This year's powerful line-up includes TOROBAKA- a dynamic performance by Akram Khan and Israel Galván who bring together Kathak and Flamenco. Akram Khan is one of the most celebrated dance artists contributing significantly to the arts in the UK and overseas. Israel Galvan is an esteemed flamenco performer best known for his dancing steps showing rapid-fire footwork punctuated by moments of stillness and silence.

Akram Khan's company was part of London Olympic Games Opening Ceremony in 2012.

ENFLIGHTENMENT - a devised piece of physical comedy by Rupesh Tillu- an actor, director and independent film-maker. Rupesh Tillu has received several international theatre awards including Outstanding Artist/Act- Stockholm Fringe Festival 2012, A Special Jury Award- Best of Prague Fringe Festival 2013 and many more.

'The Colliding Worlds Project', 90-minute musical journey which engages the viewer in an exciting musical dialogue between Indian classical and folk, jazz and hip-hop by Aditya Prakash Ensemble, a Los Angeles based music group made up of some of the most exciting and dynamic jazz and Indian classical musicians.

Book launch of 'Until The Lions' by Karthika Naïr, an author of a poetry collection, best known for ''Bearings'', ''DESH: Memories Inherited, Borrowed, Invented'', ''The Honey Hunter/ Le Tigre de Miel'' and many more. Until The Lions, is an account of the Mahabharata war in 18 voices. Akram Khan will adapt one of the poems of 'Until the Lions' for stage in TOROBAKA.
