The National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) brings you the seventh edition of its Centrestage festival, counted among Mumbai's prominent theatre festivals, starting 25th November to 4th December 2016. The theatre festival is a motley mix of multi-lingual productions in English, Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi.

Centrestage has a line-up of its 15 best picks across genres. The festival will bring you an array of talent, stories and artists like Pankaj Kapur, Sushmita Mukherjee, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Zeeshan Ayub, Neil Bhoopalam, Anuvab Pal, Sumona Chakrabarti and many more on the same stage in a single festival.

Deepa Gahlot, Head" Programming (Theatre & Film), NCPA said, ''Centrestage is a celebration of the art of theatre in its myriad forms. We try to present theatre lovers an array of theatre through handpicked plays which reflect the diversity of language, stories, genres and performances. The festival is a true representative of the Mumbai spirit.''

Get an insight into the lives of a couple who gets into an agreement before getting married in the play THE RELATIONSHIP AGREEMENT, directed by Meherzaad Patel. Pankaj Kapur's DREAMZ-SEHAR is about life in a dream, and about reality and imagination.

RAAT NA AAYE
, is based on Eugine O'Neil's LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT. DHAABA, a non-verbal object theatre performance is a take on social order from the perspective of baingans, aloos and a slew of other vegetables.

Hear conversations in a beauty parlour between two very different women in the play FACIAL, PEDICURES AND MIND MASALA written by Divya Jagdale, with Tannishtha Chatterjee acting with her.

Anuvab Pal tells us about LIFE AT 40.

PHIR SE SHAADI
is a humorous quest with Sheeba, who is looking to re-marry her husband after a talaaq. In NARIBAI, Sushmita Mukherjee introduces us to the dramatic change that takes place in the life of her estranged friend Sunaina when she meets up with a Bedhni performer of Bundelkhand called Naribai.

Another highlight of the festival is the multi-lingual production DOHRI ZINDAGI. Directed by Gurleen Judge, it is a love story, set in a homophobic society. The Gujarati play DO DEEWANE SHAHER MEIN written by Prayag Dave is about an aspirational young couple. The Marathi play ABSOLUTE, written by Yughandar Deshpande, explores the meaning of connections, existence, and the search for an Absolute. Is there something like that?

QISSEBAAZI is an amalgamation of storytelling and theatre with multiple performances, each presented in two languages, one used as the core language and the other as a bridge. With tales from the Natya Shastra to the Tilism-e-Hoshruba, these performances will keep you engaged.

Meet modern-day Shakuntala and Dushyant in SHAKUNTALA AWAITS that takes place in Mumbai and later transported to Cambridge where Dushyant is a professor and Shakuntala finds herself in a situation that puts her in a quandary.
