Ank Theater established in 1976 by its founder-director and veteran actor, the late Dinesh Thakur, celebrates 40 years of its contribution to Hindi theater in India on 1st October 2016. Ank's prolific journey has had 7000 shows and 82 productions to date.
Ank to its credit continues to stage the ''longest running play in the history of Hindi theatre, HAI MERA DIL across India. The play has completed 1125 shows and continues to play on popular demand.
For Dinesh Thakur, theatre remained entirely the Actor's medium. He was called an ''actor-maker''.
Ank presents its popular shows at a memorial theatre festival dedicated to Dinesh Thakur, and held in collaboration with the Dr Shankar Shesh Foundation on 1st & 2nd October at the NCPA, Mumbai.
