This is a play detailing the life of a black boy called "Black Boi". It examines the every day living that black men go through, by exploring the life of a single black boy. Set in a time when he is remembering his own past, he has arrived at a mirror which is a cake and he must now face his own reflection, his past, his present, his future. The play is set closely to the theme of burning but spans beyond that and encapsulates many other themes.
The entire play is performed in poetic monologue, stringing together various poems to create a 45 minute epic poem that is also a multimedia and multidiscipline event. Will "Black Boi" come out broken or better after he has gone through the flames of life - this is what the show aims to answer.
