The Play is based on a true story, which goes back to the year 1812. It revolves around the life of Dewan Amarchand, a staunch follower of Jainism. Dewan Amarchand, a financial advisor to the State was a very intelligent and a brilliant person besides being a philanthropist. He was also a religious and a pious soul. He was sincere towards his duties and uninterested in worldly possessions.

Shri Jagatsinhji was then ruler of the princely state of Jaipur. All the efforts of the Officers of East India Company to conquer the State were foiled, thanks to the intelligent tactics adopted by Dewan Amarchand. The story revolves around the ways and means by which Dewan Amarchand foils the attempts of the English rulers to capture the Jaipur state. Political manouevers and conspiracies surface in the game and finally, peace, forgiveness and serenity follow.

The production incorporates the art form of puppetry. Sincere efforts have been made to depict the dances, songs, music, costumes, language, trade and commerce, administration etc. in Rajasthan during the 18th and 19th Century. The stage design is by Chhel-Paresh while the music is by Suresh Joshi. Sheela Butala has designed the costumes of this period play.
