A kingdom in the heart of rural India. A king with majestic powers. An ill-fated villager in awe of the king, witnesses something he should not have and is sentenced to death. He manages to escape, but is declared dead by the royal court. Soon the 'dead' man is spotted by villagers indulging in petty theft. The king declares him a Preth (ghost) and orders the villagers to shun him.
The Preth wants to die, but his body craves food. He wants to vanish, but he is bone tired. He wants to get away but he has nowhere to go. The villagers are beginning to ask questions.
