The play is based on a real life incident that took place in Hyderabad. It was first written as a One-act- play and was performed in various Inter-collegiate Competitions. It bagged several awards (14 in total) from various competitions in the year of its performance
It revolves around a young girl Ameenaa and the evils of our society such as blind faith, lack of education , poverty, lack of social awareness and last but not the least the prejudices shown towards a girl child in our society in general and in the Muslim community in particular. The theme of the story being very modern and the issue being still contemporary and it is needless to say that the incident is still in practice till today
In this play where a weak and helpless soul is molested, exploited, crushed and demolished by the so called responsible, affluent and resourceful MEN who derive pride and pleasure in humiliating womanhood.
Is Ameennaa molested? No.. Sexually abused? No..raped? No.. Ameennaa is destroyed!
The delicate and fragrant soul of womanhood, which procreates, nurtures and beautifies Mankind, is crushed by the pounding foot of poverty, illiteracy, obscenity and cruelty of the Mankind itself.
Based on a true incident, the play, 'Yyahhan Ameennaa Bikti Hai' doesn't end on the story of an Ameena but it transcends into several such girl children been molested and raped and crushed in minds much before they are born.
'Yahan Ameena bikti hai' thus unfolds the plight of countless Ameenas, Ritas, Sheelas, Shakeelas, Champas.. WOMEN!
