Basic techniques: An introduction to clown and physical comedy
26th & 27th 8am - 2pm, Cuckoo Club 3500 Rupees

WORKSHOP 2:

Structuring clown and physical comedy pieces
29th & 30th 8am - 2pm 3500 Rupees

Clowning is essential to actor training. The clown nose reveals the actor in the most intricate way. Melissa�s training emphasises the individuality of the performer � technique is important, but the only thing completely unique and original about a performer is their specific personality and qualities as people.

Melissa has training performers and creating physical theatre in diverse contexts for 15 years. Trained at The London International School of Performing Arts, (LISPA) and living and working for 13 years in Malawi and Zimbabwe Melissa�s practice embraces a creative pedagogy rooted in local cultures with a specialist focus on applying the arts for good governance, human rights,
dialogue and justice.

Melissa trained students in UK and internationally in finding their inner ridiculous, and developing awareness as performers.
