Physical Theatre Masterclass with John Britton

The two-day masterclass with John Britton is an introduction, or refresher, to the principles of physical theatre. It will also allow you to dip your toes into Self-with-Others, the practice at the heart of John�s work over the past twenty years.

The masterclass offers a chance to understand
► Improvisations techniques and tools
► Cultivate presence and discipline in the body
► Psychophysical understanding of movement
► Communicating intentions through the body

John�s approach to training individuals within ensemble (Self-with-Others) is the foundation on which DUENDE�s work is built. This is a psychophysical approach that encourages bringing the mind and body into every action. It is based on a set of clear, interconnected principles, the most important being the need for performers to find deep pleasure in their work. If you are not enjoying your work, you are not doing it properly.

A workshop with John is more than a chance to encounter his work - it is also a chance to encounter yourself. You will find different parts of you come alive.

Who is this for?
The workshop is for to emerging actors, dancers, circus performers, improvisors, teachers and other artists and performers who are willing to explore the use of their bodies, to be open to new experience, and willing to be utterly supportive of others as they work.
