‎''Theatre Garage Project Residency’
Applications invited for an intensive workshop on Lecoq pedagogy

Theatre Garage Project’s 9th residency will deal with the relationship of actor-body, space and to the changing physical dynamic of tension within the body, and to focus on the creative ingredients to generate, devise and author own work. This 10 day intensive residency will be run in the format of a theatre camp, deep inside the Himalayan forest near Ramgarh- Nainital /Uttarakhand.

The residency will explore the ideas of playfulness, storytelling and theatrical time/space. It will offer the performing artist an insightful approach to working on stage and a unique opportunity to return to the roots of what it is that makes live performance both vibrant and vital. Through the use of improvisation, movement analysis, mask, puppetry, devising and ensemble work, the group will investigate how the performer can open worlds, transform space and create environments in different style of work.

Theatre Garage Project (TGP) was conceived in 2007 by NSD and LAMDA (London) graduate Ashwath Bhatt with the sole aim of strengthening theatre training in India. Its essence lies in breaking patterns, observing life, understanding self and human processes in relation to performance training. Earlier TGP Residencies have seen a fusion of cultures – enthusiasts have flocked from places like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Lucknow, Assam and Kashmir.

Date: 2nd October-12th October, 2012
