The Prithvi Theatre Festival Is Now 40 Years Old...Celebrate This Iconic Festival At Prithvi Theatre, G5A And The Royal Opera House...

Prithvi Theatre celebrates 40 Years this Festival with performances in 3 theatres: Prithvi Theatre, The Royal Opera House and at G5A.

This festival will see a revival of Prithviraj Kapoor’s play DEEWAR premiering on his birthday at the Royal Opera House, where it was originally premiered in 1945.

In 1978 on 5th November, Prithvi Theatre saw it's very first performance of Majma’s UDHWAST DHARMASHALA with Om Puri and Naseeruddin Shah. This 5th November 2018, Prithvi Festival, will kick off at Prithvi Theatre with Motley’s THE TRUTH starring Naseeruddin Shah.

Prithvi Theatre like always is looking forward to creating a memorable experience for the audience. The audiences this time around will be able to see glimpses of the old world charm mixed with modern, contemporary pieces leading the way forward for theatre, and a grand finale at Prithvi Theatre by NCPA's SOI on the last day.

The festival will commence on 3rd of November 2018 at the Royal Opera House followed by shows at Prithvi Theatre from the 5th till the 12th of November 2018.

This year the festival will present:
3 Premiere Productions (At Prithvi Theatre & Royal Opera House)
1 Western Classical Music Concert by Symphony Orchestra of India (At Prithvi Theatre) - pure natural acoustics
Platform Performances at Royal Opera House & Prithvi House
9 Fringe Theatre productions ( at Prithvi House & G5A )
5 StageTalk@Prithvi - discussions with eminent Theatre practitioners about the working journey through Theatre (at Prithvi House)
PEN@Prithvi – Literary Encounter (at Prithvi House).

Groups participating in the festival are – Motley, Ikigai, Arpana, Harkat Studios, The Phoenix Players, Ansh Theatre Group, Tamaasha Theatre, Utopia Communication, Playtrix, Play On, Rangshila Theatre Group & Manhar Gadhia Productions.
