The play had potential, but it leaned far too heavily on crude humor to get its laughs. A lot of the comedy relied on cheap, below-the-belt jokes and repeated slapstick "ass-slapping" bits, with coarse language that felt lazy rather than clever. Instead of wit, the writing substituted shock value — the kind of humor that gets an easy laugh in the moment but leaves nothing behind once the curtain falls.
What makes this especially disappointing is the standard Marathi theatre has set for itself. Marathi rangbhoomi has a legacy of sharp, literary, emotionally rich writing — playwrights like P. L. Deshpande, Vijay Tendulkar, and Vasant Kanetkar built a tradition where comedy came from wit, timing, and genuinely clever writing, not crudeness. Even contemporary Marathi plays regularly manage to be funny, moving, and intelligent all at once. Against that legacy, this play felt like a step backward — proof that vulgarity is not a substitute for good writing.
Honestly, it wasn't worth the ticket price. For the same money, there are far better Marathi plays running right now that offer real substance instead of cheap shock value. Skip this one.

Review on natak and natakkars

Natak is good, but Priya Bapat is very very arrogant. Not sure how a celebrity with so much grunt on herself when she is practically nothing in terms of her acting and her position in market. Just by doing some small roles she is thinking she owns her audience and talks very rudely as if she seems to own them. Very very annoyed with her behaviours and insulting way of approaching her fans and audience. Really pathetic celebrity if any bit.

Suggestion on Jar Tar Chi Goshtha

Watched on 9.3.2024 at Vashi. Overall Excellent natak. Attractive, colourful and innovative set up of Hotel. But starting Ring ceremony and in between garden scene was dull which needs to improve. For a long time there was same costume of all actors which need to change. One Omitting scene can be avoided.According to situation the music in the small breaks may be improved. Acting of all is excellent. Very good subject and realistic balanced dialogues of all characters. All the best for many more plays...
