Amazing

Had the good fortune of watching the play performed yesterday in Mumbai. Unlike the usual nationalistic rendering of the many 'miraculous' endeavours of the Mahatma, this play offers a glimpse into the life of the ordinary man in Gandhi, the Mohaniya. This I feel, was a much needed glimpse, for it helped shed the image of the Great Gandhi. The character of Mohaniya is a wake-up call for all of us to put an end to the divinization of Gandhi, that we indulge in shamelessly, and to search for a Mahatma within each one of us. It was an excellent performance with a wonderful message. Congratulations!
