The beauty of the tree is that it's roots grow into the depth of darkness and shoots into the light, the open sky, the fresh winds. A picture one can learn from. - AU

Roots is an intense Actors' workshop. It is an outcome of three decades of studies and dynamic artistic experiences. The approach of the workshop challenges one's conditioning, connects with vast inner world by interpreting one's 'own stories'.

Alok Ulfat Workshops awakens the truthful creator in the individual, preparing strong emotional base and encourages to produce freely, intuitively and spontaneously. The workshop digs deep into the participant's consciousness, touching one's cultural roots and offers new soils of growth. With new found realizations and nutrition for imagination an artist can reach the sky like 'fresh shoots in the spring'.

Roots will prepare the participants to discover one's own unlimited potential, to become resourceful and authentic artists, who have the courage to impart direction to their own careers and life.

Tools and Processes:

1. To help in full incarnation of the artist.
2. Understanding and experiencing the scale and proportion of stage and screen acting.
3. To Cultivate essential elements of 'Being', strengthening actors' presence, enthusiasm, energy, vigour, focus, readiness, curiosity and fearlessness.
4. Developing the free flow of imagination, improvisation, intuition & inspiration.
5. Sharpening & strengthening of Voice & Speech & discovering authentic voice and resonance.
6. Finally working with the script and it's multi-layered elements; creative writing, word, meaning, rhythm, text, sub text, silence, pauses etc.
7. Understanding and creating inner & external environment of the character and discovering right relationships with things and beings in the
8. Monologues and scene-work serve to prepare for auditions, commercials, radio, TV, web, films etc.
