This four-hour, in-person workshop invites participants to explore unconventional spaces as sites for performance - all while exploring important social, political and cultural questions.
Folks of any age are welcome. If you are younger than 18, please plan to attend with someone who is your legal guardian.
When you register, you will be asked to share information about a social, political, or cultural question that is on your mind. Based on your interests, Nandita will focus the workshop activities around a particular theme. Through the lens of that theme, we will explore what it means to create artistic work in unconventional spaces: bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, and beyond!
About Nandita Dinesh:
Nandita holds a PhD in Drama from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, an MA in Performance Studies from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and a BA in Economics & Theater from Wellesley College. An alumna of the United World College movement, Nandita has conducted community-based theatre projects in various parts of the Indian subcontinent, the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
