Dear Readers, Weekend highlights include the Primetime Theatre Co's production of AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, directed by Lillete Dubey. The show at the Nehru Centre auditorium is being hosted by Udayan, a cultural organization associated with Art, Music, Dance and Theatre. London Talents, a UK based company that specializes in 'Theatre In Education' is visiting India for the first time with its show FROM HERE…TO THERE. In our Gupshup with Jumana Kapadia, Founding Director of London Talents, we find out more about the company and of the kind of plays it develops for children as young as two years. Three plays from the third edition of the Writers' Bloc Festival will now be performed at Rangashankara in Bangalore. Siddharth Kumar's SPUNK will play on 17th February, Ayeesha Menon's PEREIRA'S BAKERY AT 76 CHAPEL ROAD will be performed on the 18th while Akash Mohimen's MAHUA will be shown on the 19th. Reviews of all the 12 plays that were part of Writers' Bloc 3 are now available on our website. The reviews that have just been uploaded include PEREIRA'S BAKERY AT 76 CHAPEL ROAD, Shekinah Jacob's THE LONG WAY HOME and Purva Naresh's OK, TATA BYE BYE. Previews of new Gujarati plays include ANE PANKHAR VITI GAYI, EM PUCHHI NE THAI NAHI PREM and PREM ATLE PREM. PREM ATLE PREM, directed by Hussaini Dawawala, premieres this weekend at the Godrej Dance Theatre at the NCPA. Atul Kumar's The Company Theatre in collaboration with Cinematograph Production presents NOTHING LIKE LEAR, based on Shakespeare's KING LEAR. The play has been directed by Rajat Kapoor and will open at Prithvi Theatre this weekend. Early next week, on 13th February, celebrated contemporary dancer-choreographer Astad Deboo will perform his new work, INTERPRETING TAGORE at the St. Andrews auditorium in Bandra. On the following day, 14th February, a documentary film made on Astad's earlier work- BREAKING BOUNDARIES will be screened at the Alliance Francaise at Churchgate. The film has been directed by Sunil Shanbag. Spend some delightful time hopping from venue to venue at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival which will end on 12th February. The festival has plenty to offer apart from plays. Some of the installations and exhibits on display, are indeed worth a watch. Watch out for curated shows at the participating art galleries and for film screenings, especially at the Max Muelleur Bhavan and at the Museum Viewing Centre at the Prince of Wales Museum.
