Creators of one-act plays can gear up for the annual 'Astitva Parangat Puraskar 2012'. This is the fourth year of the awards which invites one-act play entries that have been staged from February 2011 to January 2012. The competition is adjudged in two categories - Intercollegiate and Open.

As many as 16 awards are given to excellence in one-act play acting, writing, direction, production, sets, lights and music. Paarangat Sanmaan Awards present an opportunity for theatre groups, colleges, individuals and theatre activists to showcase their skills and expertise in the one-act play format .

A special jury award is announced as per the jury's discretion. It may be noted that the jury gave away three awards in acting, writing and production last year. The award ceremony will be held on February 25, 2012 at the Mini Theatre, P L Deshpande Kala Academy, Prabhadevi, Mumbai.
