Careers

Mumbai Theatre Guide welcomes freelance writers who are passionate about theatre and can write about it. While experience is welcome, it is not a must. We are open to new and young writers if we spot the talent. We also encourage our writers to be proactive and suggest ideas.

So, if you enjoy watching theatre, and think you may have the skill to report and write about it, you are at the right place. We are a niche theatre website with a growing database, dedicated to theatre in Mumbai but certainly not restricted to it. We may be local but we think national and international too as some of our Features and Interviews suggest. We are open to all kinds of theatre and new performances and have also given contemporary dance a platform on our website. We believe in diversity, collaborative art and are always excited about the possibilities of performance.

When you send us an email, please make sure to include the following things:
  • Your resume
  • Two sample articles of your theatre writing (published or otherwise)
  • One article on any theme/subject if you have had no experience with theatre writing (published or otherwise)
  • Please specify the languages you know and are comfortable to work with. Mainstream theatre in Mumbai takes place in four languages- Marathi, Gujarati, Hindi and English. Knowledge of more than one of these languages will be a bonus for you.
DO NOT WRITE TO US for careers in acting or any other domain of the theatre, or for any advice on enrolments in drama schools or for theatre workshops. We are strictly a content-based website focused on theatre writing.
