Dear Readers, This week's updates include the Drama School Mumbai's (DSM) One-Year Certificate Course in Acting and Theatre, Udayan Mumbai's presentation of the play DIRTY TALK, theatre screening of WAR HORSE at the NCPA, and Aasakta's production of Rajeev Naik's new play BANDISH (NCPA Select).
For our Feature this week, Piroj Wadia writes about NCPA's Vasant Natya Utsav (a festival of Gujarati plays) that took place last month. Saudamini Kalra reviews the play AN INCIDENT AT THE BORDER by Le Chayim Theatre while Jaya Kanoria reviews Rangrez's production of Ramu Ramanathan's SHANTI, SHANTI, ITS A WAR.
Ramu Ramanathan's play JAZZ is also scheduled for shows this month at the NCPA and in May at Prithvi Theatre. The play is a tribute to the bygone era of jazz clubs and musicians in Mumbai, forgotten names that gave the Hindi film industry some of its most popular tunes and rhythms.
Cheers,
Deepa Punjani
