Theatre Group No License Yet's ONE NIGHT, STAND...A Poetry Slam...

The rules -- no costumes, no musical instruments, no props - just pull out all the stops!

POETS: entry free

PUBLIC: entry fee 300 -- to come and sit in judgment on the voices of your times...
(if you want a table, call and reserve - 40332300. otherwise just walk right in...)

And between rounds of battle of the bards there will be a fusion of electronic music and jazz featuring rahul on guitar, dibs on percussion, woody on the sax n flutes...

SLAM RULES :

1) Poets wishing to compete sign up with the host,

2) Host finds 5 audience members who wish to serve as judges.

3) Judges judge each poet on a 0.0 to 10.0 scale. (5 points for content and 5 for performance)

4) Poets must follow a series of rules:
a. the poems must be of each poet's own construction,
b. the poet may not use props, costumes, or musical instruments,
c. if the poet goes over the time limit, points are deducted from his or her score.

5) All poets perform one poem in the 1st round.

6) Based on the scores they receive, the 10 top-scoring poets go on to the 2nd round, (and get free drinks and dinner, courtesy Blue Frog)

7) The 5 highest-scoring poets go on to the 3rd and final round... and get to do some spontaneous jamming (not part of the competition) with our
smokin electra-jazz-cum-funk-cum-blues musicians...

8) Winner gets a prize, this year's Grand Slammer Title, and the unceasing admiration of all...
