Marathi plays are back at Prithvi Theatre and will be performed on the last Sunday of each month. This month Awishkar presents:

JAATA NAHI JAT

About the Director:

Girish Arvind Patke has been associated with well-known theatre groups in Mumbai & Pune for the last 20 years. He explores possibilities of theatre in various forms of literature. Some of his plays include:

Swagat Kosaltya Shatakache (1997- produced by Awishkar).
Gost Laganachich Pan (1999- Produced by Awishkar).
Buddhibal Aani Zabboo (2000- produced by Valay).
Tumch Aamach Same Aasata (2001- produced by Valay).
Janoo Kaahi Vastav (2003- produced by Awishkar).
Indu Kale Va Sarala Bhole worked as co-director of (2002 produced Awishkar).
Davedar (2004 produced by Awishkar).
Janmadata (2005 produced by Awishkar).

Besides Theatre Girish is associated with films and has been active in research and direction. He was associated with eminent scholar Dr. Ashok Rande for an educational T.V. serial titled 'Aakashdeep & Pippalpan' as a research assistant.
He has also worked as Assistant Director to Amol Palekar in his Marathi film 'Anahat'.

Girish has been a recipient of various awards including Natyadarpan's award for Best Actor & the Dadar Matunga Cultural Center's award for the Best Director for the year 2000.
