Natyanath (Arun Hornekar) in association with Natyasampada (Anant Panshikar) stage the Marathi production of WAITING FOR GODOT. Directed by Arun Hornekar and adapted by Ashok Shahane, Samuel Becketts WAITING FOR GODOT will open at the PL Deshpande Mini Theatre on 29th May 2009. The play is performed as part of the Season of Godot and will run through three consecutive weekends.

Tom Alter appears for the first time on the Marathi stage. The co-producer Anant Panshikar expects Godot to still have the same impact as it did in the post IInd world war era. The world faces the same problems today and maybe the impact will be higher since todays generation is much more knowledgeable than then, he says.

Although the play is experimental in its structure, Panshikar maintains that he has taken all necessary care to make it seem like a commercial production but with no commercial compromises.
