'Paarangat-Sanmaan' Awards...To Felicitate & Commemorate Talent in Marathi One-Act Plays...

One Act Plays have been the core of theatre and are a great and a powerful vehicle for young people to express their ideas and creativity. Astitva's 'Paarangat-Sanmaan', an award for Excellence in One Act Plays is given to individuals in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the field. Theatre groups, colleges, individuals, individuals from other organizations/institutions can participate if they have been involved with one-act plays for at least 12 months.
The award ceremony will showcase the best in One Act Plays performed in Maharashtra at various competitions in the past one year. The objective is to encourage all aspects of theatre- craft, including play writing, set design, costume and light design, direction and performance.
The awards are given in the following categories: Best Play, Best Director, Best Original Script, Best Stage Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Music Composition, Best Costume Design, Best Actor (Male) in a leading role, Best Actor (Female) in a leading role.
The One Act Plays may be adapted or can be original works, which have been performed at any competition in the past 12 months from 1st February 2009 to 1st February 2010.
