MAREECHIKA... An Adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's THE LADY FROM THE SEA...

MAREECHIKAFirst staged at the Delhi Ibsen Festival in 2010, MAREECHIKA, directed by Ila Arun and KK Raina, is an adaptation of Norwegian playwright Ibsen's THE LADY FROM THE SEA. Against an illustrated phad (painted scroll), a bhopa and bhopi (male and female narrators) tell the tale in the folk tradition. The play transports you to Rajasthan through native dances and music, using a mix of easy Marwari and Hindi language.

This is the Mumbai debut of the production.
