On the occasion of the 100th show of SANGEET BAAYA DAAR UGADH, written and directed by Sushama Deshpande, Awishkar's Arun Kakade (Kakade kaka) says that it has been a most satisfying journey. He adds that this is "Innovative, pragmatic and progessive theatre." The musical which is based on the lives of women saints of Maharashtra, and which seeks to draw parallels with the condition of women in modern India, has been performed all over Maharashtra and has also been to cities like Kolkata and Delhi. In Delhi, the play was selected for the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META) and received six nominations in various areas of production. Many women organisations have hosted this play too.
