The National Centre of the Performing Arts (NCPA) in collaboration with National Theatre Live in London will screen Nicholas Wright's TRAVELLING LIGHT. The production has been directed by Nicholas Hytner and features Antony Sher, Mark Extance, Colin Haigh and Paul Jesson.

In a remote village in Eastern Europe, around 1900, the young Motl Mendl is entranced by the silent images on his father's cinematograph. Bankrolled by Jacob, the local timber merchant, and inspired by Anna, the girl sent to help him make moving pictures of their village, he stumbles on a revolutionary way of story-telling. Forty years on, Motl, now a famed American filmmaker, looks back on his early life and confronts the cost of fulfilling his dreams.

Following VINCENT IN BRIXTON and THE REPORTER, Nicholas Wright's new play is a fascinating tribute to the Eastern European immigrants who became major players in Hollywood's golden age. The award-winning Antony Sher plays Jacob.

Dates: Saturday & Sunday, 18th and 19th February 2012

Time: 3 pm and 7 pm (two shows each on both days)

Venue: Dance Theatre Godrej, NCPA
