NCPA Zest! presents the winning plays of IIT Bombay's MDGC play competition...

NCPA Centre for the Promotion of Arts & Culture Trust presents Zest!

This is a platform for campus and youth theatre. Every month, winners of inter-collegiate drama competitions and other fine youth productions are showcased at the NCPA.

Main Dramatics General Championship (MDGC) is a stage play competition of IIT Bombay.

This November, the winners of MDGC will perform their amazing work right on the NCPA stage.

Kirdaar:
Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them. Kirdaar is the story about Shekhar Shrivastava, who has everything sorted out in his life, and his father. He will do anything- anything but what his father wants him to do. Warning: Your views about Shakespeare might take a hit. See you there!

This play won Best Actor, Best Direction and Best Script.

Performed by Abhishek Yadav, Gaurav Gawande, Ayush Gupta and Aakash Rajwani.

Fitrat:
This play is aimed at providing an insight into the minds of the supposedly lower level of the society. Incorporating satire and humour into the play the play is an amalgamation of theatrical elements, lights and sounds to portray usually dull lives as delightful.

This play won the Gem of the Championship- Best Ensemble Cast.

Performed by Rahul Meena, Jatin Kumar, Rituj Jain, Nikunj Malpani and Satyam Mudaliar.

Saudade:
A Portuguese word that describes a deep emotional state of nostalgia, Saudade was once described as ''the love that remains'' after someone is gone. Often it is that we value more what we want than what we need. In his daily humdrum, amongst merry men, there was a seed of saudade which drives him daily, to live another day and to be saudade all over once again.

This play won Best Production Design.

Performed by Ranjan Raj, Farha Memon, Pawan, Chirag Agarwal, Sushant R.S. Ciliveri, Rajat Sawanni, Anmol Sureka, Nimish Nama, Naren Dhyani, Saket Bhardwaj, Amrutesh T, Suryansh Bhargava and Sandipan Bala.
