The three-day Cheer! festival at the NCPA, Mumbai from 5th to 7th June 2015 will premier 6 acts, 3 plays and one workshop for children. The acts include an all women show, magical comedy, a face off, an Indian comedy debate and a show featuring different genres of comedy. The festival will feature comedians like Sorabh Pant, Anu Menon, Radhika Vaz, Anuvabh Pal, Sonali Thakker, Varun Grover, Rajneesh Kapoor and others.

Deepa Gahlot, Head - Programming Theatre & Films, NCPA says, "Comedy as a genre has progressed tremendously and NCPA has always believed in encouraging new and fresh talent. NCPA Cheer being the only comedy theatre festival aims to promote fresh comedy theatre in the city while maintaining the quality of performances. This edition, Cheer will present a celebration of comedy, wit and laughter through 6 unique acts & 3 new plays."

Along with a bunch of comedy acts, the 4th edition of Cheer also showcases three new plays- CHARANDAS THIEF!, a modern representation of Habib Tanvir's classic, based on the translation by Anjum Katyal about a thief who vows to never lie and in the process learns the realities of dishonest people. CHARGE is based on an absurd yet hilarious future where the sky has fallen. The story typically revolves around a couple living in a world reliant on technology. The play explores the human condition and our dependence on technology. BLACK WITH EQUAL, revived after a decade, is a black comedy in four scenes, which takes an unsentimental look at contemporary society and delivers a scathing comment on the human condition.
