Prithvi Theatre has been organising Summertime@Prithvi for a long time, complete with workshops by renowned theatre personalities. This year's edition will see 31 plays for children between the age group of 4 to 16.
The festival will be spread across April, May and June 2016. For the first time, the festival will include workshops for 4 and 5 years old children too. Also, members of the Symphony Orchestra will introduce children to the world of Western Classical music.
Kunal Kapoor, who has been overseeing the management of the theatre, says: ''It is Prithvi Theatre's aim to contribute to the development of our society by awakening and exciting the creativity in our youth. Not necessarily to create artists, but to ignite their imagination, their creativity, create awareness, a respect, and appreciation for the arts in our youth, which will contribute to make a healthy civic society in the future.''
Theatrewaalas, Ansh, Akavarious Production, Astitva, Destiny Theatre, Aranya, Ipta, Ek Jute, T.pot Production, Rangbaaz, Knot Theatre, Aarambh, Yatri, Dhakkan Theatre, Gillo, Masque, Rashmi Sharma, Actor's Cult, Storia Senza Storia, Theatre Unit, Dur se Brothers, Idea Unlimited, Motley, The Collage Collective are among the participating in the festival.
