P Rajgopal and the Kataikuttu Sangam Theatre Troupe from Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, will be in Mumbai this month as part of a festival on Karnatic music in the city. They will collaborate with Karnatic vocalist T.M. Krishna and his musicians to present KARNATIC KUTTU in an innovative exchange of two art forms.

Repertoire elements from both traditions will present excerpts from the all-night plays DISROBING OF DRAUPADI and THE EIGHTEENTH DAY. Karnatic music and Kattaikkuttu theatre intertwine in the performance, reinforcing and commenting upon and transforming each other.

This performance has been made possible courtesy First Edition Arts and Devina Dutt who has facilitated and organised this experiment.

Date: 16th December 2017
Time: 7 pm
Venue: St. Andrews Auditorium, Bandra (W)

Ticket Prices: 640, 400, 250 (Inclusive of GST).
