''Prem Utsav'' is a drama festival organised by the Ideal Drama and Entertainment Academy (IDEA) every year on the occasion of the birth anniversary (31st July) of the legendary writer Premchand.
IDEA stages plays based on the short stories written by ''Munshiji'' as Premchand came to be popularly known. IDEA began this festival by staging 24 plays in 2006 and since then this festival has only grown. In 2012 IDEA did a 10 day long ''Prem Utsav'' and staged 100 stories of Munshiji.
This year IDEA will commemorate Munshiji's 137th birth anniversary in another 10 day long festival from 31st July to 5th August and from 7th August to 10th August 2017.
The group is also organising an inter-collegiate story reading competition in collaboration with Sathaye Hindi Sahitya, under the name of ''KALAM KA SIPAHI AWARD'' on 31st July 2017 from 10 a.m. onwards at Sathaye College, Vile Parle (East), Mumbai.
