expands the idea of storytelling. It is a multilingual storytelling platform with multiple performers - theatrical in presentation, and yet distinctively a storytelling performance. Each story is performed in two languages - one, the core language of the performance; and the other, the bridge language. Through this, the audience may experience the cadence of the original language, and access the content through the bridge language.

SINDHU SUDHAKAR RUM ANI ITAR
Directed by Alok Rajwade
At Sitara Studio on March 19, 4:30PM
Sindhu Sudhkar Rum Ani Itar
is a dramatic re-telling in Marathi the famous early 20th century play, Ekach Pyala. The play begins with the costume designer, Apple, accompanied by Rama and Raghu, preparing for a new period film based on Ekach Pyala. Later, a tailor and a cyclist join the preproduction stage of the film. The characters soon get engulfed in the plot, and a story of the past turns into a story of the present. The present-day characters soon confuse themselves with their historical counterparts. The drama - of in-between-spaces of the past and the present - scuttles into the crevices of time. Through the dramatic role-plays, constant game of flipping costumes, characters and mannequins in the studio, Sindhu Sudhkar Rum Ani Itar makes an insightful journey into the colourful and dark facets of society and individuals, breaking the boundaries of time and space.

The play is shrouded in mystery. The demand for secrecy comes straight from the playwright. At the third bell, the actor on stage is provided with the script in a sealed envelope. There is nothing between the actor and the audience. NO DIRECTOR, NO REHEARSAL. So be assured, you will see the finest performance, and more importantly, the only time that it will be performed.
