Born in 1969, Satyajit Sharma completed his B.A. (Hons) in English from Delhi University in 1991. After completing his graduation, he went on to join the National School of Drama (NSD) from where he graduated in 1994. Since then he has worked in different media. In television, he has worked for Raman Kumar, Pankaj Kapoor, Ramesh Sippy, Amit Khanna, Romesh Sharma, Goldie Behel and for Tony and Diya Singh.
His experience with the film media includes Kalpana Lajmi’s Darmiyaan, Gopi Desai’s Bas Yaari Rakho, Sudhir Mishra’s Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi and Chameli, Anant Balani’s 24 hrs. and Pankaj Parashar’s Inteqaam. He has also done commercials for brands such as Maggie, Idea, Sundrop and for Hindustan Lever products.
For the stage, Satyajit has worked with directors like Vikram Kapadia of Masque Productions and with Ramu Ramanathan. His plays with Vikram Kapadia include BLACK WITH EQUAL and MARATHON, an adaptation of an Italian play. With Ramu Ramanathan, Satyajit has done a play called COLLABORATORS, a satire exposing the fallacies inherent in a democracy such as India.
Blessed with good looks and a deep voice, Satyajit is a modest person whose work on the stage has been fairly appreciated. Being a careful and attentive learner, Satyajit has also been able to hone his acting skills working with different theatre people.
