Adapted by Deepa Gahlot from Paulo Coelho’s famous novel ‘The Alchemist’, the play tells the story of Santiago, a simple shepherd boy, who has a dream and the courage to follow it. His journey is an epic voyage of self-discovery and exploration as he traverses the seas and the desert in search of his treasure. The mysterious and timeless Alchemist appears before him to guide him on his spiritual journey.

Originally published in 1988, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, has sold more than 65 million copies worldwide, and is one of the best-selling books in history.
