Set in the future, CHARGE is an absurd comedy on technology and the human condition. It is no longer safe to go outside. The sky has fallen. A married couple live in one room and have their every whim catered for by androids. Tucked in bed with virtual-reality goggles strapped to his head, the man furiously finger-pops his computer keyboard, playing head-surfing games with unseen opponents. The enticing payoff ? Each other's amputated toes.
Meanwhile, his wife lies next to him on the other side of a pile of remote controls and tries to add meaning to her life by reprogramming her robots to put her in touch with suffering people - at arm's length.
Both hilarious and incisive, CHARGE explores our dependence on technology and the disconnection of human existence.
