Kokila is the daughter of Bhalabhai, a simple man who brought up his motherless three children with love. Praful the eldest son has a shop and a nagging wife whose want for a child is driving him nuts. Praful has gone frantic as recession has affected business and wants to plan a baby only once the recession is over.
Jignesh the youngest one has ideas unlimited, just like a 'shekhchalli', but no foundations to support it. He feels that once he lands in the USA, his woes will be over and he will be a big man.
Kokila, a tomboy, carefree girl, not bothered about her looks is unmarried and has lived most of her life with her father and two brothers. She is not beautiful, or she believes that she is not beautiful because nobody has said this to her. The family's priority is to get her married.
While locality boys play along with Kokila as if she is one of them, all of them scamper away from her family as they are petrified that the family will get one of them married to Kokila. Tejas is a new entrant to the locality, a young NRI eligible bachelor and a latest victim of the recession.
He is invited by Kokila's family for dinner and the poor man unknown to his fate readily accepts it. Kokila is presented to him as his would be bride. He is flabbergasted by only looking at her. Somehow he manages to save his skin and literally runs out of the funny situation.
Then comes along Vishwas, a con man with oodles of charm. The family takes to him but Kokila who doesn't believe a word of what Vishwas says, is a tough nut to crack. Vishwas convinces her to have faith in her beautiful existence. He takes her to a Beauty clinic for a complete makeover and Kokila emerges as a beauty.
Everything in the house has changed and so has Kokila's life. Tejas has fallen head over heals for her and is trying his best to impress her. Kokila is enjoying the attentions she is getting. But now there is a void in her hear for her dream man is Vishwas.
Will Kokila get her love? Or will Tejas get to marry his dream girl? Or will Vishwas, who can never settle down, will finally find his nest?
