Aastha

By MTG editorial

AASTHA is a story of love, pain, passion, and fortitude. It is a tale of self-discovery where the physicality of love is pitted against its spiritual aspect. Devdutt Bose a talented but crippled playwright arrives from Allahabad "armed with nothing but strange ideas of objectivity in theatre". Here he comes across Albert, the biggest theatre actor of Mumbai and Aastha, a nubile debutante whose charms he cannot resist. Devdutt becomes Albert's 'lil boy' and Aastha someone whom he has to protect from Albert. And that is the predicament of Devdutt, the playwright who understands so much about relationships and Devdutt the man who has just begun to understand life.

The highlight of the play is the unsaid elements of the relationships between Devdutt, Albert and Aastha. However, the play is not just about these three. Vibrant and multifaceted characters strut the stage with aplomb.
