Hum Le Gaye Tum Rahe Gaye

By MTG editorial

The play is the Hindi adaptation of super hit Gujrati play, 'Ame Lai Gaya, Tame Rahi Gaya' which has achieved a milestone of completing 350 shows in a time span of 20 months and is still running to packed houses, this play was also produced under our banner and has been the only Gujarati play to have completed 350 nights in the past 10 years. The Gujarati version inturn is the adaptation of the record breaking Marathi play 'Sahi Re Sahi' which performed a 565 shows in one calendar year! This speaks aptly about the creditworthiness of the script and the concept.

The specialty of the play is that one actor (Jaaved Jaaferi in our case) plays 4 different roles and the audience shall see 4 Jaaved Jaaferi on the stage at the same time! Sounds like magic? ...Not really in essence the play has a simple plot yet its a hilarious comedy with emphasis and focus of mistaken identity...and of course disguised identity.. The audience is kept guessing about WHO the real Amar Ajmera (Jaaved Jaaferi) is amongst the 4 claimants. The Audience shall enjoy freshness of characters, twists and turns in the plot and all the ingredients that make a perfect weekend entertainer.

A 55 year old Amar Ajmera (Jaaved Jaaferi) is a millionaire who finds out that his young wife Meera (Ruma Rajni) is having a clandestine affair with this Saahil Kurana (Manish Wadhva) But the lovers knock him down and presuming he is dead, transport his corpse away. Now the advocate Chiman Chikotia (Sanjay Goradia) arrives with the will of late Mr. Ajmera - But to utter surprise it is revealed that he has made three different wills and none are signed. The other two suitors also arrive. One Mr. Ajmera's first wife Manda (Ambica Ranjankar) and a daughter Tanman (Mrinal Deshraj) and second his uncle Jatashankar Joshi (Arun Ranjankar)

From here on starts the hilarious roller coaster ride of presenting a fake Mr. Ajmera to get his millions-

Three look alike are trained to impersonate as Ajmera. One a courier boy cum ex owner of Full Moon Beauty Saloon, second an Insurance Agent and third an illiterate village boy...

Now hold your breath! The original Ajmera too arrives... need we divulge more?
