With the completion of 75 shows in six months, this special effects comedy is going great guns in the theatres. Though farcical, the play makes some succinct comments on the sorry state of the police and the judiciary.
The story is about mistaken identity. Evil Mr Khote is rescued by upright Mr Khare after a car accident and admitted to the hospital. The doctors find Mr Khote with a mutilated face and mistake him for Mr Khare as per the identification papers found on his person. They reconstruct his face as Mr Khare. Now two similar looking men with two opposite personalities are on the prowl. Often the two are mistaken for each other giving rise to uproariously comical situations. But what unfolds finally is that the car accident was really a conspiracy.
What sets this play apart is Kedar Parulekar's spectacular special effects - with Mr Khote's crumbling body parts after the accident.
