The idea of THE DARKROOM PROJECT is drawn from the concept of processing photographs. The printing process includes various projection systems. The ultimate goal is to extract pictures from the negatives by projecting them onto photographic paper with the aid of red light alone. In a similar fashion, the drama uses five stories - 'The Little Match-Girl' (1846) by Hans Christian Anderson, 'Kafan' (1936) by Munshi Premchand, 'Khol Do' (1952), 'Poojo and Lihaaf' (1941) by Ismat Chugtai. The performance is carried out by actors, singers, musicians. The ultimate goal of THE DARKROOM PROJECT is to bring alive the stories in peoples' minds on the stage.
The performance is conceptualised and performed by Rangaai Theatre Company.
