Which is the last best play you saw?

I think my experience while watching EQ directed by Amatya Goradia was phenomenal.

Your favourite 'adda' to see a play
I don't think there is any adda which comes close to Prithvi. That stage makes play viewing a very intimate experience.

Your favourite playwright

Oscar Wilde

Your favourite play-character

Shylock
A play you would like to see filmed. Why?

Brecht's LIFE OF GALILEO has all the ingredients to become a big screen project which raises interesting arguments between science and philosophy.

A novel/short story you would like to see on stage? Why?

Poe's 'A tell-tale heart' has a lot of tension to play around with in the theatrical space. It can be a very engaging tale.

An important play (but ignored)

AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY

A play character you would like to ''dialogue'' with

I'd fancy a conversation with Jamaluddin Lutfullah from Motley's production - A WALK IN THE WOODS.

A passage from an important play that you can recite

The one where Shylock explodes...

Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions; fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, heal'd by the same means, warm'd and cool'd by the same winter and summer, as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, do we not revenge?

A classical play that you should have read

TAMING OF THE SHREW by William Shakespeare.

A play that changed your perception about the theatre

EQ by Amatya Goradia

Have you read any interesting books/articles concerning the theatre? Why did you find them interesting?

I loved reading Stanislavski's books on acting.

If you have ever been a part of a theatre production/s, can you recall an event that was insightful, significant or simply humorous?

Having no funds to perform more than a few shows regardless of how passionate you may be.

Your favourite director/actor/music or set designer

Manav Kaul

A significant Indian production that you may have witnessed

VAGINA MONOLOGUES directed by Mahabanoo Mody Kotwal.

Life in the theatre without the humble batata-wada or the cutting chai... or can you recall the best gastronomic experience you've had in the precincts of the theatre to date?

I have co- written RIPPLES having chakris with Gerish but Prithvi's chai is an obsession.
